The Story Behind Be 1 Fitness

Be 1 Fitness is the next chapter in a movement community founded by Tammy Buck, whose work in pole, dance, and fitness began more than two decades ago.

Tammy opened her first studio in Vancouver in 2004 after recognizing how powerful dance-based movement could be as a form of fitness, self-expression, and confidence. What started with pole dancing and dance fitness quickly grew into a thriving studio community offering pole, aerial, bungee, choreography, flexibility, workshops, parties, and teacher training.

Over the years, the studio became known as a place where students could show up as they were, feel supported, try something new, and discover what their bodies were capable of.

As the community grew, so did the vision. Be 1 Fitness was created to reflect the heart of what the studio had become: a space rooted in acceptance, unity, creativity, and confidence.

Now, Tammy is bringing that same spirit to Tempe with a bright, approachable studio designed to make movement feel fun, achievable, and welcoming for every body.

Our Approach

Skillful, Supportive, and Approachable

Our classes are designed to be fun without feeling chaotic, technical without feeling intimidating, and challenging without making you feel out of place.

Every class is led with step-by-step instruction, thoughtful progressions, and support from instructors who understand that everyone starts somewhere.

You do not need to be strong, flexible, coordinated, or experienced to begin. You just need a place to start.
